Lord Jesus Christ,
light of the nations and glory of Israel:
make your home among us,
and present us pure and holy
to your heavenly Father,

Collect for Candlemas
The season of Epiphany is drawing to a glorious close. Forty days on from his birth, we find the baby Jesus and his parents in the temple in Jerusalem. It is a rite of passage in the Jewish faith and a wonderful opportunity for God to reveal who Jesus is. He chooses to elderly people - faithful worshippers. Simeon is the first to recognise that Jesus is the long-promised Messiah come to save God's people and all people. Simeon is aglow with peace. It is a very beautiful scene. Enjoy entering into this.
