If you do not live in the parish where you wished to get married, one or both of you will need to have a qualifying connection to one of the parishes in this benefice to be able to be married in the church that you have chosen. Qualifying connections You will need to show that one of you: has at any time had his or her usual place of residence in one of the parishes for a period of at least 6 months or was baptised in one of the parishes or had his or her confirmation entered in a church register book in one of the parishes or has at any time regularly attended normal church services in one of the parishes for a period of at least 6 months or That one of your parents at any time after you were born has had his or her usual place of residence in one of the parishes for a period of at least 6 months or has regularly attended normal church services in one of the parishes for a period of at least 6 months or That one of your parents or grandparents was married in one of the parishes.
