Worship in Church

RSS

I was glad when they said to me,
'Let us go up to the house of the Lord.'

Psalm 122:1

We are once more worshipping in our village churches.  Whilst it is great to be back inside our beloved churches, we do know that some members of our church family will not be able to join us for health reasons and others will have found that they love worshipping on Zoom and want to continue to keep at a safe distance from others.  Over the coming months, on Sundays, we will continue to offer a blend of prayer and worship options so that there is something for everyone: a service in church, a service on Zoom and Prayers and Reflections to use at home.  There will be two service times - 10am and 4pm - and worship in church and on Zoom will switch between these slots.

Here are our upcoming services.  You will also find these services in our church calendar.

When you come to worship God in your beloved church, we want you to feel safe.  You will therefore find that:

*  there is hand sanitiser for you to use as you arrive and leave
*  you will be guided to take a specific seat in church (based on order of arrival)
*  you are encouraged to stay 2 metres (6 feet) apart when entering and leaving the church
*  each household is sat at least 2 metres (6 feet) apart from others in church
*  households stay apart whilst in church and can gather in groups of six outdoors after the service
*  we do not take up a collection in the service; instead, there is a collection plate as you arrive
*  we do not sing hymns; instead, we listen to reflective organ music, recorded hymns and songs, etc.
*  our Morning Worship services from May 23rd will include the option for Communion
*  a copy of the order of service will be available when you arrive at your designated space
*  when we share in Communion, we receive the bread (body of Christ) with reverence in silence
*  we are wearing face coverings (a legal requirement)

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Revd Katrina.

Due to the Covid-19 social distancing requirements, we have to limit attendance at our churches to:

Hardwick - up to 9 households
Mears Ashby - up to 17 households
Overstone - up to 15 households
Sywell - up to 18 households

Do let Revd Katrina know if you are planning to come to one of the above services, she will book you a space.

If you wish to worship at a church other than your usual one, please advise Revd Katrina and/or one of the churchwardens before the service.

If you have any of the Covid-19 symptoms (high fever - cough - loss of taste / smell) or have tested positive for the virus, or been asked to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace service, or someone in your household has one or more of the Covid-19 symptoms or tested positive for the virus, please stay at home.  You are in our prayers and on God's heart.  If you fall ill within 7 days of attending one of our church services, please contact Revd Katrina and/or one of our churchwardens.

When you come to worship with us, may God bless and refresh you and fill you with his peace.
