Peterborough Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship (DEF)

Encouraging Biblical Ministry

We are a group of Christians that are seeking to enable and equip the laity and all who hold a licence to grow in their faith and understanding of the bible and integrate that into our lives.

The morning meetings are aimed at those in full time or authorised ministry and we would love to see brothers and sisters from any denomination. The evening meetings are open to all.

During 2010, the theme of our meetings is: "opportunities and challenges in a PC world", and we have an exciting range of speakers, as set out in the programme (click here), including Bishop Donald Allister on Monday 18th October. A separate flyer for the Intimacy day conference on Saturday 12th June can be downloaded here.

In addition, we have recently published 'Forward in Mission' - a book of almost fifty pages with articles by ten Christian leaders within the Diocese of Peterborough. Each chapter features individual testimonies and experience of ministry, offering ideas and advice that can be used by churches of any tradition. Lord Brian Mawhinney has written the foreword, saying: "Here are down-to-earth examples of ministry to young and old, town, country and housing estate. Christian men and women take tried and tested principles and faithfully apply them with imagination and innovation. The result is new life and spiritual growth." Requests for copies can be e-mailed to admin@moultonchurch.co.uk. Individual copies can then be obtained by sending a £1 coin and a stamped addressed A5 envelope, or people can be invoiced for orders of a minimum of ten copies (with the charge for ten copies being £12.50 including postage and packing).

Looking back slightly, our 2009 programme focused on themes from the Global Anglican Futures Conference (GAFCON - see link below to our statement of September 2008) and the Lambeth Conference. a note of Rev John Dunnett's talk on 'leadership' can be downloaded (click here). His talk, plus those from Rev Dr Mike Ovey ('Wise unto Salvation - the Bible', 19th January 2009) and Rev Mike Melluish ('Mission in the 21st Century', 19th October 2009) can be downloaded from the audio page (here)

If you would like to be put on our mailing list please email Andrew Presland (DEF Secretary) at andrewpresland@harboroughroad58.freeserve.co.uk.

Please also download the 2010 programme and make these talks a priority in this challenging time of change.

Our constitution sets out the details of why the DEF exists and how it operates. A short booklet giving details is here.
