The United Benefice of Mears Ashby Hardwick and Sywell cum Overstone Audio
Listen to recent sermons preached in our churches. We are now looking at the book of Mark. We see it as vital that 7 principles of preaching are practised in this church:
1. The word of God is preached in the context of the lives of this congregation. 2. The expositional preaching here is about teaching the whole of the bible. 3. The preaching is to encourage people to think theologically all week. 4. It is centred on helping people learn to integrate faith and life.
5. It enables us to live with the opposition that living it out will bring. 6. It will help real and sustainable spiritual growth. 7. Preaching is a gospel activity not an entertainment
